Ever since the inauguration of Indian Grand Prix took place in 2011, it was Sebastian Vettel all the way. It was the German driver who won the trophy with a brilliant display of “Grand Chelem” pole in style with the fastest lap. However, the year 2012 appears to be a different ball game altogether because of Fernando Alonso much in the foray. It is now highly expected that Alonso who represents Ferrari will give a tough challenge who has already got a slender lead of six points to take things forward. As part of the bid to dethrone Vettel, he is now planning for an aggressive course as he couldn’t maintain lead after losing out in Korean GP.
The Spanish driver was unable to hold on Vettel even during the Japanese Grand Prix after came third. All these turnout of events has ignited a kind of fresh challenge between both of them. Taking on Red Bull appears to be first upon his mind firmly as he is so determined to see the chequered flag being waved up over him first. According to him, he is very much motivated in the current scenario and would like to be in the same foray in accordance with that of the entire team.
“We have struggled all year with our car, especially in the first part of the season but, now, with four races to go, we are going on full attack for the last month. Everyone in the team wants this championship,” says a spirited Alonso. Displaying consistent performance is what that matters the most and it is exactly what that drives him. The celebrated driver observes that Red Bull has got the fastest car, which was seen in the Saturday’s qualifiers as well. Everyone has got their own strong points and it depends upon the way one has got to prove them.
Winning is a matter of pride that comes in different packages with the inclusion of car development, strategies in place and the approach taken. Alonso explained that the whole strategy matters during the weekends as well. Their consistent performance is the key that comes to the fore every now and then with the latest one being in Korea. It now requires an additional four races to win the title for Alonso’s team as they already had 16 races completed to perfection. Vettel would surely be on a high after winning three back-to-back championships in Singapore, Japan and Korea. However, the German is not someone to be content with past glory and would still come up with his best yet again.
The 25-year-old says that they are still in the best of their forms though they were unable to get through any major championships in the past couple of seasons. As far as Vettel is considered, records and championships never matter him and he would still come up with his best. All these developments will definitely treat fans back home with a challenging race ahead during the Indian Grand Prix. It now rests both upon Vettel, Alonso and their respective teams that how they fare.
