Anglo-kabaddi

The England team heading to the World Cup is full of young and very good individual players. As part of team-bonding exercises, England manager Gareth Southgate has introduced Indian sport Kabaddi to the England team! England Captain Harry Kane was joined by Gary Cahill, James Vardy, Jesse Lingard, Danny Rose, Adam Lallana, Dele Alli and Marcus Rashford among others in the training session. The players were divided into a couple of groups/teams, where each player goes into the opposing team half and tags as many players as he can without being caught.

The England players took a bit of time catching up with the novelty, but once they got used to the game, it was quite competitive.

Kabaddi sessions are supposed to boost the team spirit and morale among the England players, which will be primarily required for them to be strong contenders for this World Cup. Hope the Indian game helps England to gel well as a team as they have failed in international stages not because of lack of talent but for the lack of cohesion between their individual star-players.

England has Tunisia, Panama and Belgium to face in their group stage games.
