With this victory, Argentina is almost certain of booking a direct quarterfinal spot in the Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018. The Olympic defending champions were confident, precise, accurate and took advantage of every opportunity to create chances. Agustin mazzilli scored the opening goal in the 23rd minute, with Luca Villa and Lucas Martinez also contributing to the scoreline on the 41st and 55th minute. Argentina are at the top of Pool A with six points and New Zealand are at the second position with 3 points.
On the other hand, Spain and France settled for a 1-1 draw in another Pool A game. Timothee Clement of France drew first blood in the sixth minute of the match while Spain had their chance in the 48th minute to score an equalizer through Alvaro Iglesias.
