The Asian Games have begun and the Indian contingent has been doing pretty well this time around. There’s been some disappointing moments, for us Indians, but we have had plenty to cheer about in the last couple of days. India has already bagged 3 gold and silver medals each, as their medals tally is expected to go up further.
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat made her country proud after a resolute display in the 50kg category. She defeated her opponents rather easily to win gold at the on-going Games. She became the first woman wrestler in the history of our country to win gold at the Asian games.

Saurabh Chaudhary, a 16-year old from Meerut,won the gold in 10m Air Pistol event. Born to a farmer based in Kalina Village, this youngster almost did the unthinkable while still in his adolescence. AbhishekVerma won the bronze medal in the same event.
However, it was wrestler BajrangPunia, who got us our first gold medal at the Asiad this year. Defeating Daichi Takatani in the finals, Bajrang wrote his name all over the gold in finals of the 65 kg category.
