Australia Gains Upper Hand In 2nd Test

Australia definitely have the upper hand in the 2nd Test at Perth. India set a target of only 287, ended day 4 at 112/5. The openers failed to put up a decent opening partnership yet again and Lokesh Rahul’s form is a matter of serious concern. After India scored 283, courtesy skipper Kohli’s century and Ajinkya Rahane’s half century, Australia put up 243 on the score board in the second innings. Mohammed Shami wreaked havoc and picked up 6 wickets to restrict the Aussies to a reasonable score, providing India with a good chance to go 2-0 up in the series. Bumrah also provided adequate support to Shami, claiming 3 wickets. However, India’s batting in the 2nd innings was disappointing as all the five wickets fell for only 98 runs, with Vijay and Rahane scoring only 20 and 30 runs respectively. At the end of the day’s play, Vihari and Pant were at the crease batting on 24 and 9 resspectively. Meanwhile, Lyon and Hazlewoodpicked up 2 wickets each to create a great opportunity for the Aussies to level the series.
