Jasprit Bumrah claimed six wickets to cripple the Australian batting line up and hand India a 292-run lead. Australia got bowled out for a paltry score of 151. However, the Indian batsmen did not fare well in the second innings as they were reduced to 54 at the fall of 5 wickets. At stumps, Mayank Agarwal and Rishabh Pant were at the crease unbeaten at 28 and 6 runs respectively. Meanwhile, only Marcus Harris and Tim Paine scored 22 runs each, Khawaja and Travis Head contributed 21 and 20 runs respectively. Apart from Bumrah, Jadeja picked up 2 wickets and Ishant and Shami picked up a wicket each. At the end of day’s play, India lead by 346 runs. However, in the second innings, Pujara and Kohli fell for a duck, while Rahane and Rohit contributed only 1 and 5 runs respectively. Although, India are still at the top but the bowlers need to fire again to hand India their second victory of the series.
