Chennai City defeated hosts East Bengal by 2-1 margin to affirm their lead in the I-League on Tuesday. It was a heartbreaking defeat for the East Bengal fans to accept.
Chennai’s Sandro Felipe scored the opener of the match before Enrique Esqueda equalized. However, to make things bitter for the hosts Nestor Gordillo netted another goal for the Chennai side via penalty conversion in the 87th minute of the match.
