Kitarovic showed great passion throughout the World Cup, as she flew with fellow Croatian fans in economy class and her selfies with them became the talking point for fans all over the internet. During the group stage matches, she refused VIP seating because of certain regulations which don’t allow you to wear a jersey. Kitarovic attended all the matches played by her team except the semi-finals, where Croatia knocked out England to reach the finals.
People all over twitter praised her for her humbleness, as she was seen hugging Croatian as well as the French players, even though her side lost despite putting up a gallant effort. She was caught dancing in the stands whenever Croatia scored a goal and maintained composure even after the 95th minute as France bagged the trophy. Before the match, she visited the locker room to boost the confidence of the players. Cameras also caught her consoling Modric and other players after their heartbreaking defeat. The picture of her in pouring rain, congratulating the champions while consoling her own players, still beaming with admiration for their worthy opponents was regarded by many twitter users as the picture of that day.
