The last few years in IPL have been disappointing for the Delhi outfit. This year around, with Gautam Gambhir as captain and Ricky Ponting in management, DD is looking for a complete turnaround. Languishing at the bottom of the table with just one win in five games, DD is looking to defeat KXIP today. Anyhow, the task is not going to be easy when Chris Gayle is in a mood to end games all by himself. Presently, KXIP is at the top of the table with CSK, winning four of the five games while they have already defeated DD once in this season.
With R Ashwin’s spirited captaincy in the middle, KXIP is definitely one of the most balanced sides of this IPL. No doubt, performances of Lokesh Rahul, Mujeeb Zadran and Karun Nair have been truly empowering for Preity Zinta’s side. DD, on the other hand, will be looking for the top four batsmen to perform. Captain Gautam Gambhir is due of runs and needs to rally around young guns like Shreyas Iyer. Rishabh Pant will definitely hold the key in the middle order. Mohammed Shami, Shahbaz Nadeem and Trent Boult need to bowl accurately against the KXIP batsmen today.
