Thiem capitalized on Nishikori’s shocking start with 11 unforced errors and dominated the entire game. The Austrian, blessed with a powerful backhand, proved his worth in this game.
On the other hand, Kevin Anderson confirmed his place in the knockout stages of ATP finals. And the Swiss maestro Roger Federer needs to win a set in order to qualify for the next round, and in case of a straight set loss, at least winning five games would be enough for the talisman.
