Former England and Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole announced his retirement at the age of 37. He went on to make his debut for West Ham at 17 and became captain four years later. He scored 10 goals in 56 games for England.
In 2003 after joining Chelsea, he won three Premier League titles and two FA Cups and reached the 2007-08 Champions League final.
He played more than 280 games in all competitions for Chelsea, spending seven seasons at Stamford Bridge. He had been playing for United Soccer League side Tampa Bay Rowdies since 2016.
