Indian tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi and his partner Daniel Nestor from Bahamas celebrated victory over French pair Eduardo Roger-Vasselin and Richard Gasquet 7-6 (3), 6-3 in the men's doubles first round at the ATP World Tour Miami Masters in Florida on Friday.
Initially, the third-seeded Indo-Bahamas pair had a tough time initiating the first-set tie-break, but they took complete control of the match in the second set in the one hour 20 minutes match. The French counterpart found it very difficult to handle the Indo-Bahamas duo which proved to be decisive in the match.
In future, Bhupathi and Nestor will play against Spaniard Nicolas Almagro and his partner Oliver Marach from Austria. Almagro and Marach won against Juan Sebastian Cabal from Colombia and Santiago Gonzalez from Mexico in a 6-3, 6-4 match in their first round. It is good to see an Indian making India proud. We wish all the best for Bhupathi and Nestor for their next match!
In another match, seventh seeder tennis ace of India Leander Paes and his partner Michael Llodra from France won against Philipp Kohlschreiber and Christopher Kas from Germany in a 6-3, 7-5 match.
