Bangalore: Tennis fans in this Garden City will get to see their favorite stars clash against the mighty Serbians when the two countries clash in their Davis Cup World group play-off in September.
The majestic Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association courts would be the venue of the encounter, which would witness Indian players Somdev Devvarman and Rohan Bopanna clash with the Serbians. It is still unclear whether World No.1 Novak Djokovic would be playing the tie.

India played its last zonal clash for the Davis Cup 12 months ago and reports suggested that both Devvarman and Bopanna were keen to play on the same surface, a move that was backed by non-playing captain Anand Amritraj and coach Zeeshan Ali.
The players believe that the surface would help the home team as the Serbian players like Janko Tipsarevic and Victor Troicki prefer the slower clay court surfaces, having honed their games to suit those types of soil.
On his part, non-playing captain Anand Amritraj felt that playing at a certain altitude and on a medium-fast surface with temperatures hovering around 30-32 degrees celsius in Bangalore would work to the Indians' advantage.
