It has been reported that the Rajasthan Royals cricketers S Sreesanth and Ajit Chandila who is accused and arrested for alleged spot-fixing in Indian Premier League, got into a terrible exchange of blows during their tenure in police custody in Delhi.
The encounter between the two began with a heated argument related to the IPL spot-fixing which subsequently aggravated and ultimately came to blows. Sreesanth is said to have blamed Chandila of wrecking his life and career by roping him into the spot-fixing chaos. Annoyed over Sreesanth's charges against him, Chandila too plunged into the brawl. The report added that the police had to interfere and control the situation.
According to police sources, Sreesanth and the other two players were upset when the Saket court in Delhi stretched their police custody instead of offering them bail. Previously, Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Chandila were arrested along with some bookies from Mumbai.
It has also been reported that Sreesanth looked nervous after CCTV footage was aired on TV news channels of the cricketer and Chavan along with bookies and girls in a hotel in Chandigarh. This was the place where the Rajasthan Royals team resided during their match against Kings XI Punjab that the police have claimed to be fixed.
According to the police, alleged Sreesanth, Chandila and Chavan were involved in spot-fixing wherein they accepted a certain amount of money from the bookies to score a particular number of runs in an over. They also claim that the trio indulged in spot-fixing in a number of IPL matches.
