L Devendro Singh clinched 2nd & MC Mary Kom grabbed 3rd spot in the latest AIBA rankings

To the surprise of everyone, rising star L Devendro Singh was the best-placed Indian at second position while Commonwealth Games gold-medalist Manoj Kumar was the biggest mover as he crashed into the top-10 at sixth position in the latest International Boxing Association (AIBA) rankings.

Amazingly, the 20-year-old Devendro (49kg), who clinched a silver medal at the Asian Championships last month, has climbed three steps to be 2nd with 1550 points behind David Ayrapetyan of Russia. On the other hand, Shiva Thapa (56kg), who won a gold medal at the Asian Championships, hauled the fourth position. Similarly, Manoj (64kg), who captured a bronze medal at the same event, was 21st in the previous list. However, he has gained considerably to crash into top-10 with 800 points.

Further, world Championships bronze-medalist Vikas Krishan (69kg) captured the seventh spot while former Olympic bronze-medalist Vijender Singh gained a couple of positions to haul 12th position with 500 points in the middleweight 75kg category.

Among the women's rankings, London Olympics bronze-medalist M C Mary Kom (51kg) maintained her third position in the list with 2050 points. On the other side, Asian Championships silver-medalist L Sarita Devi's position remained unchanged at seventh with 800 points in the 60kg division.
