Luis Suarez failed to shine in a match which was headed towards a draw but Jose Gimenez saved the blushes for both Suarez and Cavani as he helped Uruguay better Egypt by a goal as he scored one on the 90th minute with a remarkable header.
Egypt played safe and chose to rest Mohamed Salah for the match and the gamble had almost paid off thanks to the misfiring Suarez who spurned three chances to score tonight.
Salah could only watch from the bench as Uruguay snatched a victory during the dying minutes of the match.
