Congratulations are in order for Lilima Minz, of the Indian Women’s Hockey team, for she yet again set the milestone of 150 International Caps. Lilima was part of the squad which won the gold medal in the 2017 Asia Cup. Apart from that she was a member of the team that represented India in the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic after 36 years.
Debuting in 2011, she has contributed for the women’s team in a very dominating way, and brought home the bronze medal in the Girls U-18 Hockey Championship, held at Bangkok, Thailand. The women’s team has quite a few moments in store, where they boasted a strong competition, and Lilima have been of most of them, in her 8-years career.
Winning 1 bronze medal and 1 silver medal with the team in Asian Games, she completed 100th appearance for India in 2018. Now, she yet again set another milestone, with 150 International Caps for the nation. She achieved the feat in the ongoing Olympic test events at Tokyo, against the hosts, Japan itself. Indian team won the match in the end with 2-1 final score.
Hockey India was overwhelmed by Lilima’s recent achievement, congratulated her on Wednesday, 21st August. Belonging from Odisha, Lilima Minz, have been an inspiration for young girls dreaming to play Field Hockey, and she wishes to progress in the next year’s Olympic Games, and make India proud.
