Argentina Captain Messi scored a hat trick against minnows Haiti in Argentina’s World Cup warm-up match.
Messi scored from a penalty in the 17th minute of the match. He scored his second goal from a simple tap-in earlier part of the second half, while he scored the third goal in the 65th minute of the match. He also assisted the fourth goal that was scored by Manchester City striker Aguero.
Gonzalo Higuaín and Ángel Di María started with Messi, however, they could not exert their influence over the match, but Aguero played well after he was introduced from the bench.
Messi will be looking to lead his side to their first World Cup since Diego Maradona led Argentina to their last World Cup in 1986.
After the win over Haiti, Messi stated that the World Cup is the dream for his country and that even if Argentina are not contenders for the World Cup, they are improving on a daily basis.
