A late goal from Minerva Punjab FC sealed the deal for the home team in their clash against Indian Arrows. The defending champions Minerva faced a tough fight from the young Arrows team. Philip Njoku’s decisive strike came in the 76th minute of the game to ensure Minerva goes away with three points. Arrows had their chances in the match but failed to convert. Both the teams had a shot on the target twice in the first half but were denied from scoring. With this victory Minerva are at the fifth position.
On the other hand, Mohun Bagan and Chennai City played an entertaining draw in the Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium). Sony Norde scored for the hosts in the 50th minute of the game but Spanish midfielder Nestor Jesus equalized for the visitors in the 81st minute of the match to Deny Bagan a victory. Chennai’s goalkeeper Nauzet Santana was also in superb form to ensure that the home game can’t score any goal.
