Novak Djokovic fought back against his drop in rankings by reaching China Open final

Shanghai Masters champion Novak Djokovic, who lost his world no.1 position to Rafael Nadal, fought back in China by adding two titles to his collection.
The soon-to-be-married Serb claimed that he still has unfinished business this season following delivering the perfect response to being ousted from the men's top ranking. Just after Nadal returned to number one spot by reaching the China Open final, Djokovic proved that he was not about to leave by defending his title from the Spaniard in straight sets. Subsequently, he swept everything before him in Shanghai to win a trophy for the second time within two weeks.
Djokovic clarified that he had not yet contemplated next year's Grand Slams and was quite focused on 2013. Moreover, World Tour Finals, Paris Masters and Davis Cup final are yet to come.
The world number two claimed after his 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (7/3) victory over del Potro on Sunday that he is still in this year and it hasn't finished. He added that he will really try to do his best till the end of the season, then he is going to start thinking about what his goals are for next year.
No doubt, Nadal has been the outstanding player this season following making a phenomenal return from injury to win 10 titles including the French Open as well as the US Open.
However, Djokovic was also not lagging behind. He retained his Australian Open crown by narrowly losing to Nadal in the semi-finals at Roland Garros and further in the final at Flushing Meadows. Then he was hammered by Andy Murray in the Wimbledon final.
It cannot be ignored that Djokovic's chances of finishing before Nadal as year-end number one are narrow as the Spaniard, who was injured this time last year, lacks points to defend himself in the rolling rankings.
Regarding the hopes of returning to the top spot, Djokovic disclosed that he will put himself in a better position currently with back-to-back victories. He mentioned that the fact that if he would win, he would put himself in a better position and did not affect his motivation. He added that his motivation is there always, especially when he is playing finals of such a great event. He highlighted that he wanted this title as much as his rival. That is what is going to remain forever.
Particularly, the six-time Grand Slam winner has won 5 titles this year. Subsequently, he will defend his title at the World Tour finals and further attempt to win the Davis Cup for a 2nd time in next month's match against the Czech Republic.
He expressed that what he is impressed the most with is the appreciation that they have really being able to emerge every single day in front of the hotel, morning & evening wait for him, wish him luck and finally welcome him. He agreed that for him, that is unusual because he doesn't get an opportunity to experience that in the other tournaments. He really respect that a lot and he feels that love and try to return that too.
In addition, one of the agenda for Djokovic is his impending marriage to his fiancee, swimwear model Jelena Ristic, who can often be spotted in the courtside d his matches.
The 26-year-old admitted that he will leave most of the organization for the wedding to his fiancee. He is sure that she is going to handle it better than he does.
