World number one tennis player Novak Djokovic announced on Twitter about his engagement to swimwear model girlfriend Jelena Ristic.
Adjacent to a photo of the happy couple, 26-year-old Djokovic tweeted late Wednesday: "Meet my fiance and future wife :) So happy! Thank you for wonderful wishes #NoleFam and friends".
The 27-year-old Ristic, who along with modeling simultaneously runs her future husband's charitable ‘Novak Djokovic Foundation’ and is a regular courtside spectator.
Both Ristic and Andy Murray's girlfriend Kim Sears surfaced as the queens of Centre court at Wimbledon this year. Notably, the glamour duo patiently watched the matches, as their respective partners slugged it out for the All England Club title.
No doubt, Ristic and Sears wear their hearts on their sleeves and frequently appear to be suffering more than their partners when the game gets tough on court.
In fact Ristic, who lives with Djokovic and their pet poodle Pierre in Monte Carlo, has admitted that she finds it impossible to stay separate from the action while her boyfriend is playing yet another grueling match just near to her. That was evident when Djokovic of Serbia survived the longest semi-final span in Wimbledon history. He got the better of Juan Martin del Potro in a bruising clash that continued for 4 hours and 43 minutes.
Ristic declared to the media after that match that one can get very passionate when viewing ones boyfriend from the players' box. They just want them to be glad. One doesn't want to see them in pain. In case they are not glad, neither she.
Djokovic ended up missing out on his second Wimbledon title to Andy Murray and this month he lost in the final of the US Open to Rafael Nadal.
