The Indian Women’s Hockey team is all set to tour England for a five-match series to be held in Marlow, England. On Friday, the squad for the England tour was unveiled, and along with it the captain for the team was announced. The 18-member team, are scheduled to commence their journey in England from 27th September, and Rani Rampal will be the woman to lead them.
The ace striker, Rampal have guided India through crucial matches in her career, and she will continue to do so in their next big game. She will have goalkeeper Savita by her side as her deputy. The recent Olympic Test Events held in Japan saw the likes of Savita and Rajani Etimarpu, who will be continuing in the England series as a back-up to one another. Rani will be striking as a forward leading from the front.
The rest of the team includes players such as, Lilima Minz, Deep Grace Ekka, Gurjit Kaur, Vandana Katariya, Navneet Kaur, Lalremsiami, Navjot Kaur, Sharmila Devi, Reena Khokhar, Salima Tete, Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam, Nikki Pradhan, Monika, Neha Goyal, Namita Toppo.
