It’s time for the much awaited FIFA World Cup, 2018. Host country Russia and Saudi Arabia will start the tournament at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow. The Green Falkons are the first Asian team to take part in a World Cup opener.
It has been just 1432 days since German’s addition of another star to their jersey, and Russia and Saudi Arabia will take on the field to start another chapter in the storied history of the FIFA World Cup. Both the sides have had on rather undesirable run of recent form. Russia has failed to win seven non-competitive attempts since beating the Korean Republic in October, while the Saudis have lost three friendly matches in a row.
Both the teams will be hoping for victory at the Luzhniki Stadium to end a barren run at the global finals. Russia hasn’t won at the World Cup since 2002, while Saudi Arabia’s last global victory came at USA 1994.
