Sachin Tendulkar proclaimed his retirement from the IPL just after Mumbai Indians victory

At last but not the least, Sachin Tendulkar proclaimed his retirement from the cash-rich Indian Premier League on Sunday night just after Mumbai Indians won their maiden title after ousting Chennai Super Kings by 23 runs in the final.

Tendulkar narrated after the Mumbai Indians' victory that for World Cup he had to wait for 21 years but for this he had to wait for just six years. Above all this is special for him as he won't be playing in IPL next year.

The master blaster opined that this is the correct time to stop playing IPL. He has just accepted the reality that this would be his last season. He is happy that the sending was perfect. When another legend Sunil Gavaskar interrogated whether he would like to play opening match of Mumbai Indians at Wankhede next year, he answered that he just can’t wait to touch the trophy and this is the correct time to say thank you to everyone. He added that it is never too late to win a trophy.

When questioned about how it felt playing at 40, Anil Kumble answered that 40 is just a number. In fact, there were optional practice days but entire team turned up. He admitted that things don't come easily but they were prepared to overcome the grind.

In case of Tendulkar, the ongoing season surpassed their performance in the third season where they thinly lost the final against Chennai Super Kings. The cricket legend stated that he has enjoyed his six seasons with Mumbai Indians. It has been an incredible journey. The present season was remarkably superb. They assumed that their third season was the best but the current one is the icing on the cake.

To be precise, this is the second format from which Tendulkar has declared his retirement. Before this, he had called quits from the ODIs just before the series against Pakistan in December.

Sadly, the cricket fans will have to wait till the end of 2013 when Tendulkar will probably be seen in action against South Africa in a three-Test series where he is supposed to conclude a historic 200 Tests.
