Indian top seed Saina Nehwal blamed a wrong line-call in the third game which forced her to lose focus and waste three matchpoints to lose the competition in the India Open Super Series at the Siri Fort Sports Complex on Thursday.
The World No.2 shuttler lost the women's singles second round match against Yui Hashimoto of Japan by 21-13, 12-21, 20-22 on Thursday.
A discontented Saina after her loss admitted that she got pretty perturbed by the wrong line-call--leading 20-17 and missed out on the subsequent two points. She just lost her focus and everything occurred so rapidly that she just couldn't concentrate after that. She went out of rhythm and then could not manage the game. That moment came and went so instantly that she could not get hold of the situation. She added that she will have to be mentally tougher in the future to beat these obstacles. She attempted her best and there was no pressure on her. At 20-17, the match ended. But it occurs. At times decisions do not go in favor. She will have to be mentally tough enough in the future so that this does not happen again. She will return again next year and give her best. Saina replied positively when interrogated if the line-call review system can help the players. She thinks that this is where the line-call review system will assist the players on getting the correct decision.
