Wisden leading cricketer award 2018 goes to England’s women world cup winning trio Heather Knight, Anya Shrubsole and Nat Scriver
For two consecutive years, Virat Kohli was crowned the Wisden leading male cricketer in the world. Mithali Raj too managed to get recognised this year along with three of England's Women's World Cup-winning trio Heather Knight, Anya Shrubsole and Nat Sciver, have been named, along with Essex fast bowler Jamie Porter and West Indies opener Shai Hope. The criteria for the five Cricketers of the Year award revolved around performances in England in both domestic and International level. It was the first time women cricketers were the majority part of the Selection Procedure. According to Wisden editor Lawrence Booth, England’s World Cup triumph in Lords against India was a major breakthrough in the history of United Kingdom’s cricket.
