Will PCB incorporate Younis Khan in the list of probables for the ICC Champions Trophy?

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been reportedly pondering over a proposal to include middle-order batsman Younis Khan in the list of 30 possible players for the ICC Champions Trophy. They will select a 15 member squad from it which will be proclaimed by the end of this month.

Younis Khan has an extensive experience of 253 ODIs in which he has scored 7,014 runs at 31.88 average. Due to this reason, he may be considered in place of injured paceman Umar Gul for the 8-nation tournament which is supposed to be held in England from 6th June. It is further reported that the national selection committee has been criticized by various quarters for not including Khan in the list of 30 probables for which they are pondering over their decision.

It has come to light that all-rounder Shahid Afridi's inclusion in the squad is highly controversial as his performance was not impressive in domestic as well as international competitions recently. However the PCB believes that his immense experience of international cricket may prove to be beneficial for the squad. It has also been reported that the inclusion of Afridi and Khan will make the squad highly experienced as Umar Akmal has modest chance to get picked up because of his poor run with the bat.
